10 time Grand Slam winner Rafael Nadal had to skip training sessions with young Spaniard and up and coming star Albert Alcaraz due to extremely poor weather conditions in his native Mallorca, there by hampering his practice as he looks to regain his world number one ranking spot from Novak Djokovic.
The former world number one Spaniard has been hit hard by three consecutive losses in Grand Slam finals, losing to Novak Djokovic, therefore becoming the first player in the Open Era to do so.
Nadal and his training partner Alcaraz has been hitting the nets with Nadal having an eye set on regaining the world number one crown from The Djoker and he has earmarked to compete in just a few major tournaments this year to give his body ample time to recover from the stress. Rafael Nadal will head into the Indian Wells ATP Tournament that is scheduled from the 5th of March at the Indian Wells Tennis Garden in California, knowing a win over the top seeded Djokovic in the tournament will bring him closer to the number one crown.
With the poor weather conditions sweeping across the whole of Europe, his practice looks set to hampered for a few days, which is not good news for the dethroned King of Clay. Nadal wrote on his Facebook page that it is extremely tough to swallow seven losses at the finals, including three Majors and that too, to the same player.
Rafael Nadal is looking to avenge his loss in the final of the Indian Wells ATP Championships at the hands of the Serbian Djokovic last year and being the second seed for the tournament, it is highly unlikely that the two will meet before the final which is scheduled to take place on the 8th of March.
